Staycation: The Best AND OUR FAVOURITE Place to stay in Phuket: Twinpalms MontAzure
A 45-minute drive from Phuket International Airport lies the five-star Twinpalms MontAzure. Perfect for beach lovers and placed directly on the seafront, this recently opened Phuket boutique hotel offers a truly luxurious stay for all guests of all ages.
Twinpalms MontAzure is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and located on Kamala Beach on the up-market west coast of Phuket Island. It features 46 beautifully appointed Suites and Penthouses (including seven penthouses and pool suites with their own private pool), all with amazing views of either the ocean, the pool or the nearby mountains. The hotel combines high end luxe with strong eco-credentials as it has a strict ‘no single-use plastic’.
Upon arrival we were greeted by fresh flower garlands and a refreshing welcome drink before being quickly checked-in and shown to our room.
All rooms have balconies with either sea, pool or mountain views and are surrounded by lush palms offering seclusion and privacy. Each room also has a separate lounge living area and a fully stocked kitchenette with Nespresso machines and tea making facilities. The bedroom featured a super king sized bed which had a super soft 280 thread count cotton bed linen, goose down duvet and pillows. *We got to chooses our room scent and pillow too!
Along with this, there were complimentary movies that were shown on the 55” and 43” flat screen TVs and there are USB ports around the room for charging your devices. The room also featured a walk-in closet to store your luggage and clothes whereas the bathroom had twin washbasins, and a spacious shower enclosure with rain and hand showers.
Twinpalms MontAzure has two swimming pools – the Lagoon pool located between the hotel buildings is 30 metres long, perfect for laps. Right by the sea is the triangular infinity pool, at beach level, with a shallow and deep sections. Both pool areas offer sun loungers with bar and snack service.
The hotel also has a modern and well-equipped gym, massage and spa facilities and a library with a selection of books and international magazines and a boutique selling items from local designers. In-villa dining, cooking classes, private chefs and personal trainers can be arranged.
Shimmer is the hotel’s beach restaurant that showcases breathtaking views of the Andaman sea. This was where breakfast was served.
The restaurant also offers all day dining that features fresh seafood, meat and local vegetables with an Asian twist. They also do a great Saturday brunch (from 12pm-3pm) which we were lucky enough to enjoy and indulge in. It featured amazing dishes such as Boston Lobster and Wagyu Steak and a salad/seafood/cheese/dessert bar too!
Just next door to Shimmer is the popular HQ Beach Club. Offering a full dining menu, guests favourites include fresh and succulent salads, flavourful seafood, magnificent pasta, light grills and many more. The beverage menu includes 19 cocktails, wine coolers, fresh juices, smoothies, coffee and tea, a broad selection of champagnes, rosé, red & white wines, spirits, draught beers, and single malt whiskeys. There is also a selection of Cuban cigars. The day rate for Beach Sun Bed and Beach Sala range from 2,000-4,000 Baht per day and include Food & Beverage value of the same amount. Opening times are daily from 9am to 10pm; dining is available from 11am to 9:30pm.
The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to its sister hotel, the Twinpalms Phuket on nearby Surin Beach, and all its restaurants, including Catch Beach Club, Oriental Spoon and Palm Seaside.
All the staff at Twinpalms MontAzure were extremely accomodating, kind, and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure every guest is very well taken care of and pampered.
