Black Bar & Grill is an award-winning modern steak house located within The Star, Sydney. It boasts beautiful views of the harbour and has at atmosphere that you don’t want to miss! The restaurant presents the finest steakhouse cuisine inspired by contemporary Australia and its seasonal produce.

As we entered Black Bar & Grill, we were escorted to our table that had a beautiful backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We passed a dim-lit bar which boasted a very impressive range of wines and spirits that we were later recommended with our food.

Head chef Dany Karam loves to combine cultures and cuisines in his dishes and this could be intricately shown and tasted with every dish served.

As we browsed through the menu, we were served a loaf of freshly baked bread that crumbled in your mouth on first bite. We then ordered a cocktail each and the waiter brought out some seasoned olives and beef jerky which was home-made with their steak. Calling these starters delicious doesn’t do justice to the taste and flavour they both had.

After devouring all these snacks, we then proceeded to order. We opted for Oysters which were chilled and freshly opened with served red wine vinegar and shallot dressing; Toothfish Glacier with black pepper sauce, charred lime and herb salad; Flat Iron 600-day ration fed wagyu steak and a side of Mac & Cheese with three cheese sauce and bacon crumbs.

All the dishes were very presentable and extremely tasty, in fact this was one of, if not the best steak we have ever eaten! The restaurant was over 70% packed and we can definitely see why. The food was exceptional and the staff were all very attentive to all customers and very knowledgable about everything on the menu. We will definitely be back at this restaurant and if you haven’t been, we 100% recommend checking this place out, it is one of the best restaurants we have dined at in Sydney - you won’t regret it!
