Drink & Dine: LA RAMBLA'S ROYAL CHAMPAGNE SUNDAY BRUNCH
Spanning over 5,000 sq. ft. at ifc mall, the newly opened La Rambla by Catalunya delivers on its promise of serving authentic Spanish cuisine in a modern, sleek setting. With Hong Kong’s iconic harbour as the picture-perfect backdrop, Chef Ferran Tadeo takes centre stage with this ingredient-driven, Catalan-inspired menu.
They have newly launched a royal champagne sunday brunch experience which highlights premium Spanish products and authentic Spanish recipes with a modern twist. Every Sunday, guests can enjoy brunch with finesse and with the option of adding on a free-flow drinks package. The brunch package also features both a buffet and a-la-carte options to dine from.
The brunch starts at LA BARRA (“The Bar”), where guests can indulge on a brilliant buffet spread of the finest cuts of jamón ibérico, cured meats, Spanish cheeses and various types of anchovies, along with Catalan versions of ensaladas, coques and tostadas. At HUEVOS HUEVOS!! (“Eggs Station”), fresh Japanese eggs are cooked a la minute including a classic Spanish Tortilla, Broken Eggs with Chorizo, slow-cooked egg with potato foam (The Bazaar), or simply, Eggs Your Way.
From the menu, guests can enjoy the famous Tapas such as Bikini (a mouth-watering jamón-and-cheese grilled toastie layered with black truffle), Jamón Croquetas (croquettes of creamy béchamel and savoury Iberico ham), and Bombas De La Barceloneta. Meat lovers should not miss the JOSPER GRILL SPECIALS – everything cooked over charcoal. Opt for the juicy Grilled Tiger Prawns, or ask for the weekly-changing Sunday Specials!
La Rambla’s Paella’s are made to order, including the Classic Paella created with pork belly, calamari and clams, Squid Ink Paella with clams, calamari and Catalan-style arroz negro, and Vegetarian Paella with grilled green asparagus, seasonal vegetables and Catalan-style arroz a banda. Guests are advised to choose one dish to share between two from the SHARED MAIN COURSES. Mains include La Rambla’s signature Traditional Suckling Pig “Segovian Style” served with seasonal mushrooms, Josper Charcoal Grilled Turbot with a scrumptious donostiarra sauce, and Wagyu Beef Cheek cooked “Fricando Style” braised in red wine and served with crispy shoestring potatoes.
For the finale comes ALGO DULCE (“Something Sweet”). There was a wide selection of pastries, traditional Spanish desserts, and even whole cakes. Ice cream lovers will be delighted by the Helado Nitro Ice Cream Sundae, a sundae of French vanilla ice cream with toppings prepared tableside.
Priced at a valued HK$550 + 10% per guest, the upgraded Sunday En La Boqueria brunch experience captures the vibrant flavours of Barcelona’s famous food market, La Boqueria, through a vast array of tapas, meats and seafood offerings. The “GREAT OPEN BAR” drinks package is priced at an additional HK$1,300, which includes among other premium choices, free-flowing Belvedere, Monkey 47, Patron, and the star of the show, Krug Grande Cuvée NV. Alternatively for an additional HK$350 per guest, add on the 3-hour-long “GOOD OPEN BAR” package for unlimited cocktail classics such as Sangria, Chased-Oak Smoked Bloody Mary, and Veuve Clicquot Brut.
