Makeup artist to the stars Charlotte Tilbury unveiled the hotly anticipated launch of Hot Lips 2; a new, nuanced, suits-all lipstick collection with 11 new lipsticks inspired by 11 iconic women and men; Enigmatic Edward (Edward Enninful), JK Magic (J.K. Rowling), Red Hot Susan (Susan Sarandon), Dancefloor Princess (Kylie Minogue), Amazing Amal (Amal Clooney), Angel Alessandra (Alessandra Ambrosio), Glowing Jen (Jennifer Aniston), Carina’s Star (Carina Lau), Viva La Vergara (Sofia Vergara), In Love With Olivia (Olivia Palermo) and Patsy Red (Patsy Tilbury) — Charlotte’s mother, her first beauty icon and one of her biggest inspirations.

The lipsticks are housed in five refillable, collectible cases, and there are 11 universally flattering shades to choose from, spanning from the perfect, blushed nude, to a crimson red. Basically, there is something for everyone, in this lipstick line.

The Shades:

JK Magic - This is the perfect everyday neutral shade. It glided on very easily and the texture was ultra smooth!

Red Hot Susan - If you like bold red lips, this is the perfect shade for you. The pigment of this red was perfect to create a statement. The matte texture feels modern, but not very drying, though a layer of moisturiser under the lipstick helps for a super-smooth application.

In Love With Olivia - This was a super-flattering, sumptuous pink. It was slightly more pink than her other pink-toned lipsticks in this collection but is the perfect shade for that “pretty in pink” summer vibe

Patsy Red - This bold red is enough to create a statement. It is a little more oranged-toned than Red Hot Susan, but It’s not too harsh on the lips and is also very hydrating which in a red lip, is hard to find!

Dancefloor Princess - By the name, you can already tell this is going to be a pink-toned shade. The formula gives a luminous soft pearl consistency that helps to create the illusion of fuller, wider-looking lips.

Viva La Vergara - This is a flattering soft wine shade, nothing too dark on the lips but still enough to make a statement. It has a painterly texture that blends with the natural pigment in your lips and sets beautifully.

Carina’s Star - This is a wearable, fresh, illuminating, modern peachy soft coral. The nuanced color enlivens the lips and has a subtle brightening effect, while the modern matte texture makes the lips look instantly fuller and wider. It’s a pop of color that suits every skin tone and is said to look good on everyone from 18-80!

Glowing Jen - This tawny beachy rose lipstick shade is a universal colour that would again, look good on anyone!

Amazing Amal - This was perfect shade of berry pink that suits any skin tone. It is the perfect shade for an everyday wear - when you want some colour but don’t want anything too drastic!

Angel Alessandra - This was more of a nude shade and was very smooth, creamy, and very hydrating. Perfect to pair with a smokey-eye or also for an everyday wear.

Enigmatic Edward - This was a clear lip balm made with shea butter, synthetic (vegan) beeswax, a hyaluronic-acid matrix that includes olive triglycerides and a time-release action, a sunflower + mimosa + jojoba wax blend, and aloe vera. It feels great on lips as it was both light and very moisturising - perfect for everyday wear for any season or occasion!
