STAYCATION: AYARA KAMALA RESORT, PHUKET
Located in Kamala Bay, a peaceful spot on Phuket Island and just 20 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Patong and Phuket town lies the luxurious Ayara Kamala Resort. The resort boasts stunning views of the Andaman Sea along with first-rate spa and 5-star fitness facilities.
Upon arrival I was given a choice of four different scented oils that would be burning in my room. I opted for lavender to match the calm serenity that I felt the resort exuded. I then checked-in and was shown to my Deluxe room which had direct access to a pool from my balcony.
Each room and villa is designed with the concept of ‘Ayara’. This corresponds with the nature of ‘elephants’ that are gentle and kind. Every room has immense attention to detail with every item and piece of furniture carefully designed and placed to match the ambience of the room. The room had a thai-style and featured light wood flooring and furniture with a comfortable seating area, a flat-screen TV and large bathroom with a bathtub. It was the perfect place to come to recharge and relax.
Breakfast was served at The Cradle restaurant and featured a wide variety of international dishes and a food and drink menu which you could also order from (included in breakfast price) if you wanted to opt for something else. The food was delicious and what made it even better is that the Crade restaurant overlooked a pool and scenic view - the perfect sight to start a morning! During breakfast there was also 5-minute mini shoulder massages given to promote their amazing Ratana Spa. Can you think of a better way to start a morning? The Cradle restaurant also provides guests with delicious Thai food as well as international dishes throughout the day.
Ayara’s Ratana Spa provides one with professional treatments, making sure you walk out fresh and relaxed. The spa offers massages, scrubs & wraps, facials and more beauty treatments catering to your every need. The tranquillising forest view from the spa ensures that you feel even more relaxed (if that is even possible!) and the masseuses tailor each massage to meet one’s needs.
The resort also offers daily activities guests can enrol in such as a thai cocktail class, a fruit carving class, thai cooking class, sports activities and more. An airport transfer service and a free beach shuttle to and from Kamala Beach is also provided by the resort.
Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa is the perfect place to visit to relax and rejuvenate. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating and go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. A definite place to check into for those visiting Phuket!
