STAYCATION: PULLMAN BANGKOK HOTEL G, THAILAND
Located in the city center of Silom district, Pullman Bangkok Hotel G is a 5-star lifestyle hotel that is perfect for anybody; whether your a solo traveller, travelling with family or away on business Pullman Bangkok Hotel G is the place to stay. With about 40-minutes away from the airport, the Hotel is about a 5-minute walk away from the Chong Nonsi BTS skytrain station, a 10-minute walk from the Silom underground subway as well as the popular shopping and entertainment district. Popular attractions such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Asiatique down the Chao Phraya River are also just minutes away from the hotel.
Upon checking in the staff were very accommodating and friendly. It was a quick process and my bags were sent up to my room within minutes of me checking in. Pullman Bangkok Hotel G features 469 spacious hotel rooms and suites featuring floor-to-ceiling window with uninterrupted views of the sensational city. I checked into the G Deluxe Room which was located between the 18th-25th floor. The room reminded me of a contemporary yet minimalist loft as it featured decor and furniture to compliment this ambience. There was also complimentary WiFi, tea/coffee and bathroom amenities for me to use during the stay. Guests are also able to use the pillow menu to choose what best will comfort them throughout the stay. What I loved most about this room was the floor-to-ceiling windows which gave me a stunning view of Bangkok at night, and an even more refreshing one to wake up to.
The lifestyle Pullman Bangkok Hotel G features various facilities such as a gym, swimming pool and luxury spa. The EnerGy fitness gym features the latest state-of-the-art TechnoGym equipment, and steam rooms. They also provide fitness trainers for those looking to train with someone. The Anne Semonin Spa is a luxury spa situated within the hotel that uses a blend of aromatic essentials oils and marine ingredients in holistic treatments tailored to the individual needs of guests.
My favourite thing to do when I travel is visit the pool and Pullman Bangkok’s outdoor swimming pool definitely met my expectations. Located on the 5th floor the swimming pool is a tranquil oasis in the heart of downtown Bangkok. Other facilities include meeting rooms and ballrooms.
The hotel provides numerous dining options, including 25 Degrees, the renowned 24-hour burger restaurant & bar, Scarlett, the award-winning rooftop bar & restaurant, Playground Bubbles mixology bar and Mistral Restaurant, an all-day dining contemporary venue. I had the pleasure of dining at the Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant which was located on the 37th floor of the hotel. It is the best rooftop bar & restaurant in Bangkok, and I could definitely see why. The venue had a stunning skyscraper view of Bangkok, and an extensive food and drink, in particular wine menu.
The interior of the venue was elegantly designed as it was spacious yet with an intimate ambience. It also had an outdoor area where guests could also enjoy food & drink with the view. The staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable in recommending what wine would go best with each dish, ensuring your meal is the best it can be. They also had a ‘healthier option’ menu which is great for guests who are still looking to eat lean on holiday. The presentation of all the dishes was immaculate and the taste was divine. I’m not a huge dessert fan but the manager recommended I try the Sherbet Platter which was a delicious and refreshing way to end my meal.
Breakfast was served in the Mistral restaurant and featured an international buffet. There was a wide selection of both western and asian, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for everyone.
Pullman Bangkok Hotel G has been one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Bangkok. All the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly and the location made it ideal to go out and about easily in Bangkok - a definite recommendation from us!
