Female Entrepreneur Rachel Carrasco shares what's in her bag
Ever wonder what a successful entrepreneur has hiding in her bag? Well, wonder no more.
From beauty picks to work must-haves, Girl Boss extraordinaire Rachel Carrasco shares her handbag essentials for work and after work.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Rachel Carrasco is Singapore’s very own Girl Boss extraordinaire. With past experience working with global MNCs such as Diageo, Moet Hennessy and American Express to name a few, she is currently the founder of her own company RACHE, that focuses on brand experience and marketing.
A woman who exemplifies resilience, Rachel has taken this past year as an opportunity to grow her business instead of riding out the pandemic lockdown. With a mindset of "In every chaos, there is also opportunity", she spearheaded the launch of two FnB brands, RIO (ready-to-drink canned cocktail) and Baken (bacon snacks and confectionery). With leading multiple brands and being someone who’s always on-the-go, we find out what the staple items are in her bag!
Rachel usually carries two bags with her, a small bag and an extra laptop bag. All the bulky items go into the laptop bag so when she has to run-off for meetings or social gatherings, it allows her to leave her laptop bag in the office.
1) A cardholder - “This is basically my wallet. I like it compact and I only like bringing what is necessary. Plus, it is mostly wireless in Singapore.”
2) Wireless Headphones – “It helps me multi-task on-the-go. By this I mean, with wireless headphones, I can take calls while answering emails, looking at documents or fixing my calendar. Of course, it also comes in handy when I need to take a breather to listen to music or my meditation app.”
3) Phone – “Who doesn’t carry one! But apart from the accessibility and social media (which by the way I track my screen time and have a limit per day), nowadays, I use it a lot with an app called Headspace. It’s my favourite meditation app to date! It covers a ton of courses and each one tackles how to manage the mind and regulate emotions. Simple, everyday topics that anyone can relate to. It seriously helps me reframe my thinking when I start to doubt myself or what I do. It also calms my nerves when I start to feel overwhelmed with my personal and work life. Highly recommended.”
4) Garmin Fenix 5s – “I carry a sports watch in case I want to insert a run or workout in my day. Moreover, it has a relax timer. Sometimes, I forget to take deep breaths or breathe when my emotions are heightened or running on overdrive. So, I slap it on, set the timer and it buzzes each time to remind me to inhale the good and exhale the bad! Works like a charm!”
5) Personal Care/Beauty Products
Hand Lotion – “With so much hand sanitisers we use every day, my skin gets dry so I need to rehydrate it hands. My fave is the scent of Bath & Body Works – At the Beach. It’s also the closest I can get to the beach, for now!”
Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 – “No color lip balm to hydrate my lips since I’m always sitting inside my office where the AC is blasting like crazy.”
Armani Beauty – “Facepowder (Luminous Silk Compact), Blush Tint (A-Blush), and Concealer.”
6) A Set of Crystals – “Depending where I am going, who I am meeting or how I am feeling, I choose a crystal/s to carry around to help stabilise or boost my energy field. Clear quartz to absorb my excess energies – whether negative or positive. Blue crystals to help voice out my ideas or communicate with others better. And, abundance crystals like pyrites (aka “gold”) and citrines to keep positive and attract good things/people.”
7) A1 Spanish Book – “Taking my A1 level for Spanish after work. Preparing for when the world opens and I start doing business in Europe. I’ll have a language that will come in handy!”
8) Snacks On-The-Go – “I love munching on snacks all day. My team can attest to this. It ranges from fruits, to fries, to donuts/cakes, to crisps. Of course my all-time favourite is our brand Baken and our Real Bacon Crisps product made out of 100% bacon and no artificial substitutes.”
