BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW: AQUA SHARD, LONDON

If you ask anyone in London where to go for a spectacular view of the city, their number one recommendation would be the shard. Recently, aqua shard which is located on the 31st floor of The Shard, introduced new menus for breakfast that start from roughly £25 per person. aqua shard offers a full a la carte breakfast menu from Monday to Friday 7.00am-10.30am, and a set breakfast menu Monday-Sunday and on public holidays.

Upon arrival at aqua shard, I was escorted to my seat which had a breathtaking view of the London skyline including must-see attractions Tower Bridge, London Eye and the Tower of London.

I tried out the set menu which started off with a glass of fresh orange, apple or grapefruit juice. After that, the staff at aqua shard served up a selection of danish pastries and muffins which tasted like they had just been baked and fresh out of  the oven.

After indulging in all the pastries (they were too good to resist!) I was served my main breakfast choice - Lobster Benedict. I had heard excellent reviews of their Lobster Benedict and how it was one of the top egg benedicts in London so I had to try it and it definitely did not disappoint and lived up to the title. The lobster benedict featured colchester blue lobster and two poached eggs on top of toasted english muffins topped with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were poached to perfection and bread toasted ever so lightly which gave it a crisp finish. The set breakfast also comes with  coffee/tea and a full vegetarian breakfast option is also available.
