Globe-Trotter and Paul Smith come together for a fabulous set of suitcases
For the few who haven’t heard of Globe-Trotter, they are a renowned suitcase manufacturing firm based out of the UK who and best known for their unbeatable craftsmanship and quality products. The marquee will soon be celebrating 120 years of its existence in the business, an occasion that it plans commemorate with a new line of suitcases that it has created in association with Paul Smith.
The collection aims at combining the trusted make of Globe-Trotter with the distinctive color palette that Paul Smith is best known for. Available in both carry-on and check-in sizes, the baggage is made from black vulcanized fiberboard, further decorated with leather corners that boast of a classic Paul Smith color palette. It will apparently take 10 days, 9 hours and 35 minutes of production time to craft a single Paul Smith X Globe-Trotter Trolley, making it a collector’s favorite of sorts.
Commenting on the collaboration, Paul Smith in a statement said, “With Globe-Trotter, there’s not so much you can do to the actual case because it’s so perfect”. He further added, “What I wanted to do was just add my colors to it”. Limited to only 120 pieces (in line with the marquee’s 120th anniversary), the Paul Smith X Globe Trotter collection hit the shelves on July 3, 2019.
